Drifting back to memories
timeless, evocative and also bittersweet
Timeless
Evocative
Bittersweet
In this turbulent world I often find myself drifting back to memories of times past, where life seemed so much simpler. One way I’ve always enjoyed doing so is by looking at old photographs. They are so timeless, evocative and also bittersweet making you realize how fast time passes.
Delving into photo images from family and friend’s archives from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s started to rekindle a desire to think about painting once again. I had taken an almost 40 year hiatus as a painter as my career in graphic design and life’s obligations took precedence. I also give soaking in all the creative energy here in Santa Cruz while visiting Open Studios over the past many years alot of credit to giving me the inspiration of deciding to paint once again.
