A Place for Every Piece

I have been lucky enough to delve into the world of mosaics by attending almost annually over the past 10 years a retreat in the artist community of Todos Santos, MX. Mexican smalti is my favorite tesserae but I also love using flotsam, jetsam and stones collected since I was a young girl living by the East & West coast, the Great & Finger Lakes or wherever I go. I have even collected while traveling on solo long distance hikes by backpack! I tend to favor non-grouted pieces as it shows the technical skill needed to fit pieces precisely with the difficult to cut material.
